Division 4B: Roche Emmets 2-7, O'Connell's 2-8. It's two wins from two games played after we had a one point win in Roche last Tuesday night. We were short a couple of players but some of the old guard donned their boots and rolled back the years and indeed some of the people there thought some were rolling the grass at different stages. Behind at half time 1-3 to 1-2 we turned it around in the second half and were four points up, but with only a couple of minutes to go it was 2-7 each but we got the winner from Jonathon Conlon to make it two wins from two games played in this division.

Team: Sean Connolly 0-1(45); David Neasy, David Doyle, Micheal Cairns; Patrick Clarke, Stephen Hoey, Emmett Byrne; Dean Stanfield, Sean Cairns; Conor Culligan 0-1(f), Andrew Sharkey 1-1, Conor McGill 0-1; Wayne Kierans 0-1, Kevin McGeough 1-0, Jonathon Conlon 0-3. Subs Wayne McKeever for S.Cairns.

Division 1: Naomh Mairtin 1-10, O'Connell's 1-9. What a difference a week makes in football, from beating the division one champions last week, to losing a game we should have won had we turned up before half time. Our first half performance can only be described as terrible. Give any team a six point lead in this division and you will have to be at your very best to catch them up. But we nearly did just that, so we will say it's a lesson learnt. We play the Dreadnots next Sunday in the Grove at 3.00pm.

Team: Sean Connolly; PJ Tuite, Conor Byrne, Stephen Hoey; David Doyle, Jackie Agnew 1-0, Keith Woods; Mark Stanfield 0-1, Stuart Reynolds 0-4(3f); Dean Stanfield 0-2, Niall Conlon, Andrew Sharkey 0-1(1f); Jason Carroll, Conor Culligan, Conor McGill. Subs Killian Shields for Woods, Keith Ryan 0-1 for Culligan and Jonathon Conlon for McGill.

Lebanon: The club would like wish a safe tour of duty to O'Connell's player Keith Woods who is off to the Lebanon with the Irish Army. Keith has played in most of our games for both teams this season and will be missed by the club.
