Leagues continue to take centre stage
May 03, 2012
The all-county leagues are still dominating the Louth GAA landscape.
Matches in all three divisions are coming thick and fast and it would be fair to say the cobwebs have been shaken off at this stage!
Newtown Blues are one of the early pace-setters and they maintained their 100% record with an impressive 1-10 to 1-7 victory over town rivals O'Raghallaighs last weekend.
St Patricks also bared their teeth as they beat Dreadnots by 2-15 to 2-8 while O'Connells pulled off an eye-catching 1-17 to 0-13 victory over Mattock Rangers.
Clan na Gael moved to the top of Division Two as they defeated Naomh Fionnbarra in a six-goal thriller, 3-13 to 3-6.
The big game in Division One this weekend sees the Blues host Cooley in Round Four on Friday night, while the Newfoundwell men are back in action on Bank Holiday Monday, when they travel to Clogherhead to take on Dreadnots in their re-scheduled Round One match.
