Division 1: O'Connell's 1-17, Mattock Rangers 0-13. There are some nights in football when everything clicks and it's great to be there to see it. Last Friday night was one of those nights when we beat Mattock by seven points and the performance was top draw stuff. They were short a few good players but so were we, with our top scorer sitting beside me with two broken fingers. And if the team keeps putting in performances like this one he could be sitting beside me a lot more often. It's another two points in the bag and we remain unbeaten, but that game is gone and it's Naomh Mairtin next Friday night in Monasterboice which will be another hard game as they all are in this division.

Underage Training: Our underage training program continues on Friday 20th of April from 5.00pm to 6.00pm. Three of our senior players Andrew Shields, Salem Rifaie and Emmet Byrne will be there to help out. There will also be training for 4 and 5 year Old's on the same evening.
Golf Classic: Our annual golf classic will be held in Killin Golf Club on this Saturday May 5th, entry fee for a team of four is €160. Team and Tee Special €220. Hole sponsorship €80. Full 18 holes, player refreshments on day, team meal in clubhouse after round. Evening in O'Connell's- clubrooms, results and presentations, light refreshments and music by Take Two (Barry Pritchard & Paul Kennedy). Goal Time: There are FA Cup Final goal times on sale at €3 each in aid of our underage teams from Jonathon Conlon and Declan Byrne. 1st goal €100, last goal €40, no goal scorer after 90 minutes €140. Goal times taken from the Sunday Independent.
Social Dancing: There will be social dancing in our clubrooms on Bank Holiday Monday 7th May at 9.30pm. Music by Brian McDermott, admission €10 and refreshments will be served.
Social Dance Classes: Beginners & Intermediated. Learn how to Waltz, Quick Step, Foxtrot and Jive in a relaxed environment. No Partner Needed. Continues on Tuesdays from 8-10pm in our clubrooms. Scholarships: The assessment for the Gaeltacht scholarships will take place on Saturday, 12th May in Darver Centre of Excellence, commencing 10am.
There are five under 14 and five under 16 to be distributed to successful applicants for Coláiste Bríde, Rann na Féirste and other Coláistí, sponsored by An Coiste Chondae, CLG. Applicants must have an interest in and working knowledge of Irish and be proposed through their local GAA club. It is essential that permission of parents/guardians be confirmed for applications to be accepted. Tweet
