Scale New Heights:
On Saturday 12th May, Pearse Óg Hurling Club, is challenging players, supporters, family, friends and daredevils alike to take on the heights of the 14 story, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dundalk; raising much need funds for our juvenile teams, as we abseil from the roof of the 190ft high building.
This year we began training boys and girls from 4 years of age up to U14 with continued success thanks to the use of the fantasic facilities at the Muirhevnamore Astro Turf Pitch and with the recruitment of additional enthusiatic and experienced coaches. However, now we are giving people the opportunity to sign up for this unforgettable challenge while raising money to provide hurley's, helmets and all the basic hurling equipment to enable these kids to learn the art of hurling, to provide the opportunity and encouragement for each child to enjoy hurling in a safe positive learning environment, with the promotion of the values of fairness, mutual respect, courtesy and tolerance of others. Special effort will be provided to foster self discipline, enjoyment, physical fitness and high standards of skill which will enable each child to mature into excellent all round players with a love for sport and Gaelic games.
David Mulholland, Club Chairperson says the following of the event, "This is a great opportunity to do something out of the ordinary with your Saturday and you'll be helping the kids of the community. Events like these have always proved popular, and we have limited number of places for this unique challenge. We hope the people of Dundalk will do us proud and really get involved in this local event for a local club."
