Louth's ladies will be staying in Division Four for another year at least.

The Wee County's fate was sealed when they lost their NFL Division Four semi-final to Limerick by the narrowest of margins at Crettyard, 0-8 to 0-7.

It was a bitterly disappointing result for Louth, who were the better side for long spells but failed to take their chances.

In wet, windy conditions, they led by 0-4 to 0-3 at half time but the game turned on its head when the Treaty girls landed three points in as many minutes upon the restart.

The losers had a late chance to force extra time but Jenny McGuinness' pressure free drifted outside the posts. Tweet
