County Board pay tribute to Charlie
April 18, 2012
A Chara,
It is with great sadness and regret that we all learned of the passing of Charlie Mc Allister this morning after a long battle with illness. A true legend and a man of great integrity and principles, it was always a pleasure to be in his company with his passion and love for the GAA in particular Newtown Blues and Louth evident to all. He placed great value on the founding principles and ethos of the GAA and exemplified these in his life.
Always one for a handshake, smile and chat to those he met it was fitting that his last attendance at a Louth match resulted in a victory for his beloved county in Navan. The Louth GAA family has been enriched by his life and he will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Ar dheis De go raibh a anam uasail.
Funeral Arrangements:
Reposing at his home in Francis Street, Drogheda from 4.00 tomorrow(Wednesday).
Removal from his home on Friday morning at 10.30 for 11.00 mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Drogheda.
Burial afterwards in St. Peters Cemetery.
As a mark of respect, all County Board activities/games tonight, tomorrow and Thursday have been postponed.
