Collier setting sights high

Louth's David Collier
Louth newcomer David Collier says the Reds won't be making up the numbers in the NFL.

While the Wee County are set to participate in a difficult-looking Division Two, rookie St Fechins full back Collier believes they should set their sights higher than survival, starting with a win over Westmeath at Haggardstown this weekend:

"We had a few meetings and realistically we want to go for a win against Westmeath first of all and then it's game by game after that," he says in The Argus.

"But we have no intention of just settling for staying in Division Two because there's a few other games we can definitely win. We're capable of competing against the big teams and we'd be looking to get into the top half of the table.

"Westmeath have a team in the All-Ireland club championship and are going fairly well but we have a good record against them and have beaten them the last three times, so hopefully we can get the win and take a bit of momentum into the Galway game."
