Louth have received a boost of their NFL opener as midfielder Paddy Keenan is fit to play.
The St Patrick's clubman damaged his hamstring in a recent challenge match and was rated doubtful for the league opener against Westmeath.
However, the talismanic midfielder has recovered in time as the Wee County look to get off to a good start, particularly against a Westmeath side that are understrength at the moment.
Shane Lennon is definitely out with a groin injury, while the game is expected to come too soon for the returning Mick Fanning and Brian White.
