Fitzer experimented in Carlow IT challenge

Louth manager Peter Fitzpatrick
Peter Fitzpatrick used an experimental Louth side against Carlow IT in Monday's SF challenge.

With the county U21s in action at the same time and most of his regulars unavailable, the Louth boss used the occasion to take a close look at David Collier (St Fechins), Jim McEneaney (Geraldines) and Eoin O'Connor (St Patricks), while Craig Lynch, Cathal Bellew, Paudie Clarke, Jackie Agnew and Harry O'Connell were all introduced as half-time subs.

Louth fell to a 0-12 to 0-9 defeat and Conor Rafferty's free gave them their only second-half score. But it's not really about results in this type of fixture and this weekend's Mc Geough Cup clash with Down in Haggardstown will give the manager more food for thought as the competitive season draws ever-nearer.
