Club championship round-up
July 22, 2010
There was action over the weekend in the junior, intermediate and senior championships.
In the only SFC match to survive, Dundalk Gaels produced a stunning finale to beat Dreadnots by 3-7 to 1-12 in Group D, having trailed by 1-9 to 1-6 with six minutes left.
Intermediate championship favourites O'Connells didn't have to be at their best as they disposed of Geraldines (0-13 to 0-7 in Group A at Knockbridge on Sunday night), while St McDermotts recorded their second successive win in the JFC, beating St Kevins by 1-7 to 1-6.
John Mitchells and Westerns are both out of contention in the JFC, having each lost their opening two games. Westerns lost to Naomh Fionnbarra by 3-12 to 0-7 and the Mitchells were beaten by Dowdallshill by an identical margin: 1-16 to 0-5.
St Nicholas and Lannleire are guaranteed to progress from Group D of the JFC, having beaten Wolfe Tones and 13-man Stabannon respectively.
