Louth manager Peter Fitzpatrick is relishing Saturday's All-Ireland football qualifier against Dublin at Croke Park.

Fitzpatrick has been a long-time admirer of the Dubs and sees the meeting with Pat Gilroy's charges as an opportunity for the Wee County to bounce back from the heartbreaking Leinster final defeat to Meath.

"It's great to be playing the Dubs and no better place to play them than Croke Park," he said.

"I love the Dubs and I love Hill 16 - the crowd bring something special to the GAA. I hope there's a big crowd and the more the merrier. I just hope that 25 or 30,000 people from Louth turn out to support us. They were great for the Leinster final and their backing is very important."

The Louth boss insists that his players have put the controversial Leinster final behind them.

"It's a great draw for both sides. Playing in Croke Park is every player's dream and this is just our third game there this season so we are only getting used to it.

"Dublin will be favourites and we'll be underdogs. I have seen all of their games this year. Against Tipperary we saw a bit of the old Dublin and that was no bad Armagh side that they beat.

"They are getting stronger every day. We were very happy at training last week and we are delighted with the draw," he added.
