U21s face Wexford test

February 19, 2010
Louth meet Wexford in the first round of the 2010 Leinster U21 FC at Dowdallshill on Saturday (2.30).

Manager Kieran Maguire has led his team to impressive wins over the likes of Sligo, Queens University, Monaghan and Mayobridge in challenge games, while the Wee County U21s also showed up well in defeat to DCU and Armagh.

Louth will be without long-term absentees Gerry Hoey, Eoin O'Connor and Peter Nixon. They're fielding a physically strong and experienced side and the manager is full of praise for the efforts of his players in preparing for this clash:

"I know all managers say it, but they're a great bunch of lads. They've worked very hard and they've come on in leaps and bounds over the past couple of months."
