O hEochaidh to challenge chairman again
November 27, 2008
For the second successive year, Tomas O hEochaidh is challenging Paddy Oliver for the post of Louth County Board chairman.
The nominations for December 15 have been submitted and the Oliver Plunketts clubman is the only challenger to the outgoing Oliver, who's bidding for a fifth year in the chair.
Under the terms of the five-year rule introduced last year, 2009 would be Oliver's last year at the helm were he to be successfully re-elected.
There is a distinct lack of interest in the main posts at the top table. Apart from the chairman and vice-chairman (Tony Reynolds is going up against Brian Moroney), the rest of the more prestigious positions are unopposed.
