Geraldines club notes

January 14, 2019

The club is very busy at the moment with both the Seniors and Youth getting plans underway for the new season. The Seniors are back training and the turnout and commitment shown has been very positive. Good luck to all involved.

Much congrats to Gers trio Padraig Cunningham, Matthew Fee and Feildhim Joyce who helped the Louth hurlers win the Bord na Mona Kehoe Shield final today.

Our congratulations also to Dan Corcoran, James Craven and Jim McEneaney who have all been part of the recent Louth Senior squad that has competed in the O’Byrne Cup. Indeed, it is some 60 years since the club has had 3 players on the starting team (v Wicklow).

Well done to all of you, the club is immensely proud.

The club held a successful Community Warm Up Walk on Saturday 12th with approx. 150 people (and pets) doing the 4.5km circuit around the parish. Huge thanks to SuperValu who provided the club with bottles of water and fruit platters enjoyed by everyone afterwards. Thanks to all who participated in the walk and also to anyone who helped out in any way.

This Thursday, 17th January, sees the first of our 6 week walks around the pitch in conjunction with Operation Transformation and the Ireland Lights Up initiative. The club will be open and lit up for you, your family and friends to come and walk from 7pm to 8pm. This is a community event and we want everyone to come and join us for Ireland Lights Up 2019! Registrations from 6.45 pm and refreshments served in the kitchen afterwards.
