U13 Challenge Match
O'Raghallaighs 4-5, Eire Og Greystones 4-2
Our U13s began the year on a bright note this morning with a last minute win over our visitors, Eire Og, from Greystones. The Beast from the East was flexing its muscles with a chilly breeze, but that didn't prevent both teams going at the game with gusto. Eire Og landed the early punches, taking advantage of some slack home defending to hit the new twice in quick succession. First half points from Oisin Lambe, Killian Skelly and Darragh Stone kept us in touch at the break with Eire Og leading 2-1 to 0-3.
The second half saw the home side up the ante, the twin totem full forward line of Skelly and Lambe bagging a goal apiece, along with a well taken 1-2 from Pearse Brannigan, left them leading by 6 points with five minutes to go. Just in time to let Eire Og back in with two goals to draw level before natural born defender Ben Goring popped up in the square to strike a last minute winner, capping a fine individual performance.
A competitive game, both teams provided some fine entertainment for all in attendance. Thank you to Eire Og for making the trip up to play us and a big thank you as well to the parents for providing the post-match refreshments.
Our registration night for juvenile players will take place on Tuesday, 6th March from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
