The Longford senior football championship has ground to a halt for the moment.

The reason for this is Longford Slasher's appeal to the suspension of two of their players which was heard by the Leinster GAA Hearings Committee and their decision has led to the County Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) agreeing to defer the SFC replay between Slashers and Killoe Emmet Og until next Sunday, August 21st.

The controversial fixture which saw a replay being called after Killoe were found to have 16 players on the pitch when they scored what they thought was the winning point late on in the game.

The game had been re-fixed for last Tuesday night, but Slashers appeal over the suspensions to Conor Clarke and Liam Barry has resulted in it being put back.

This has had a knock on effect for all fixtures in the SFC and the quarterfinal draw has also been put on hold.
