Sheedy determined to rally troops

Longford manager Jack Sheedy knows that he will have a job in his hands rallying the side following their relegation to Division Four.

Last weekend's defeat to Wexford confirmed the Midlanders departure from Division Three much to the dismay of Sheedy charges and the county's supporters.

Nonetheless, Sheedy was adamant that they could bounce back and produce their best form in the Leinster championship, although he admitted that it will take a big effort from both the management and the players.

"The next week will be tough, but we have another competition to aim at," Sheedy told the Longford Leader. "The players have great resolve in them. They have been in this position before and have bounced back.

"From what I have seen over the last few months there is a lot of character in there and I'd be very surprised if they don't stand up and give a seriously good account of themselves in the course of the next few weeks.

"We have to prepare now for the first round of the Leinster championship against Offaly and prepare we will in a very string fashion."
