Sheridan kicks his way into record books

Longford goalkeeper Damien Sheridan won the 14th annual DAA Kick Fada competition at Bray Emmets GAA club today.
The Dromard clubman smashed the competition record by three metres with a massive kick of 75 metres to see off a strong field. Louth's Sean Connolly finished second with Donegal goalkeeper Paul Durcan in third place.
The international event was won by New York's Patrick Murray who finished just ahead of London 'keeper Declan Traynor.
2012 winner Serena Hannon from the Clan na Gael Fontenoy club in Dublin retained the women's title with a huge 51-metre kick. Hannah Tyrrell from the Round Towers club finished in second place with Geraldine Norton from Wicklow coming in third.
