Progress pleases Ryan

Longford manager Glenn Ryan is pleased by the progress the side has made so far this year.

The Midlanders are currently preparing for the division 3 league final against Wexford at Croke Park on Saturday evening, which will be played as part of a double header with the division 4 final between Fermanagh and Wicklow.

Ryan feels that his charges have made great strides this year and he explained to the Longford Leader that a win on Saturday would cap it all.

"It's great," he enthused. "You would have to be happy with the current situation, no point playing it down. We'll take it for what it is. Now, hopefully we can win something on Saturday.

"There are only a few counties every year that have the opportunity of winning a trophy in Croke Park. It's a big day out for us and I'm looking forward to it."
