FL3 round-up: scores aplenty in Division Three
February 05, 2012
Wexford and Longford had their scoring boots on today; Roscommon also won.
Paul Kelly's first-half goal set Longford on their way to a 2-15 to 0-8 win against Offaly at Pearse Park.
Eric Bradley scored a goal in either half as Wexford got the better of Cavan at Wexford Park, 4-9 to 1-13. The hosts were running riot at one stage in the first half after netting three times but Cavan registered five successive points to trail by 3-2 to 0-9 at the break. Bradley struck the first goal for the Model men and Ciaran Lyng followed up with a second three-pointer from a penalty before the hosts' third first-half major arrived courtesy of an own goal.
Conor Devaney hit the net and Barry Grogan was sent off for the visitors as Roscommon beat Tipperary by 1-12 to 0-12 at Kiltoom. All the drama came after the break in this one - it was 0-4 each at half time.
On Saturday night, an injury-time Thomas McCann free from 50 metres gave Antrim a thrilling 0-13 to 0-12 victory over Sligo at Casement Park.
