Longford football manager Glenn Ryan has been handed a major boost with the news that former underage star Michael Quinn will be available to him next season.

Quinn has been applying his trade in Australia with Essendon since 2008, but after his contract wasn't renewed with the AFL outfit last spring speculation mounted that he could be set for a return back home.

The 21-year-old has not represented Longford at senior level, but Ryan will be hoping that can change in 2012 as the improving Midlanders look to push on from the promising campaign they endured this past season. Tweet
