Rathcline and Longford GAA are mourning the death of Alison Smyth, who passed away on Tuesday.

An All Star nominee in 2009, Alison was a hugely popular figure in ladies football in the county, helping Longford to a number of provincial titles.

She was a star player as Rathcline claimed county honours this year.

Alison's funeral takes place on Thursday, in the Church of the Blessed Virgin, Newtowncashel, at 1pm.
