Colmcille GFC Notes
December 05, 2011
The club held it's A.G.M. on Sunday last in the community centre. In her address to the meeting, chairperson Marie O'Reilly Keenan noted that while we won no silverware this year there was still cause for optimism as our seniors made it to the semi final stages of the championship, as did our U21 amalgamation team in the B championship along with a quarter final appearance by our junior team. She thanked all the players and management teams for their efforts in getting to the latter stages of several competitions. She also noted the various successes at underage level and said that this too was encouraging for the future. She thanked Gerry McCabe and the minor club for their efforts during the year. Marie went on to mention Operation Transformation. She noted the huge success that it was as a source of income for the club but also how much of the community spirit was brought out by the event. She thanked all those who participated in the events, all those who supported the events and she thanked Murtagh's, Reilly's and McCabe's for the use of their venues. Marie congratulated the ladies club on their fine achievements throughout the year and made special mention of Michelle Farrell on being named Leinster Young Player of the Year.
