Fox braced for Galway battle
July 29, 2010
Longford minor boss Ciaran Fox expects a real battle in Saturday's All-Ireland MFC quarter-final.
Having stormed through the back door to rule Leinster, the midlanders face the Tribesboys in Dr Hyde Park at 2pm on Saturday, with Fox commenting:
"The Leinster final is over and done with and we are looking forward to Galway. It has been like this for the whole year: all about the next game.
"The next game is all that matters and we have been training very hard for that. The focus is on Galway.
"From the start of the championship, every game we have played we've had to up our game. It's going to be no different on Saturday.
"We have to try and push on from the last day because if we don't we could be in trouble.
"It's going to be a big step-up for us but we are going to try and make that step-up. We have been doing that from the start of the year, to try and improve on our last performance.
"In fairness to the boys, they have worked their socks off to get here. If we compete, we are giving ourselves a good chance."
