Minors prepare for Galway test

July 22, 2010
After their historic success in the Leinster championship, Longford's minor footballers will look to go one better when they face Galway in the quarter-finals of the ESB All-Ireland MFC.

Galway, who lost their provincial final last weekend to rivals Mayo by 3-9 to 1-10, will be keen to make up for their loss and take a step closer to the title they last captured three years ago.

Longford will be confident going into the last eight clash, knowing that a win would put them into a semi-final at Croke Park against either Armagh or Munster champions Cork on August 29.

Longford play Galway on Saturday week, July 31 (provisional), in the ESB All-Ireland MFC quarter-finals at Dr Hyde Park.
