Longford minor captain Dylan Quinn feels that they hard work that the squad put in all year paid off last Sunday at Croke Park.

Quinn became only the fourth Longford player to captain the county to minor provincial success and he stressed that the victory was down to the squad as a whole.

"We just knew we were good enough and it was just that we had to perform on the day. Against Offaly in the first round in April, we just didn't show up, none of us performed," said Quinn.

"We just said we are going to turn it around from here and we're going to work. Slowly and surely we got up to another level with each game. Now we have got to the top level and we have won that because of our hard work." Tweet
