NHL 4: Longford bounce back

March 21, 2010
Longford 3-20
Leitrim 1-8

Longford bounced back from last weekend's disappointing defeat at the hands of Monaghan to maul a disappointing Leitrim outfit at Pearse Park today.

Things didn't look to promising for the hosts early on as Liam Burns struck a fine goal for Leitrim, but they recovered superbly as Gareth Ghee and Eoin Donnellan registered the points that put them 0-14 to 1-4 in front at half-time.

After the restart the game turned into one-way traffic as John Newman pucked to the Leitrim net twice and Rory Donnellan made sure the result was never in doubt with another major to cap off a fine wins which sees Longford stay right in the race for promotion.
