Club Notes for issue dated Friday 19th March 2010
Our seniors opened their league campaign when we travelled to Killoe on Saturday evening last. The home side had the better of the early exchanges and held a 1-08 to 0-02 lead at half time. We started the second half in determined fashion reducing the deficit to 2 pts at one stage. However our opponents held out to record a 1-12 to 1-08 victory. Team and scorers; Gavin McNerney, Peadar Faughnan, Niall Vance, Enda Kiernan, Paul Mc Entire, Cathal Conefrey, Padraic McNerney, John Sheridan, Peter Reynolds, Donal Sheridan (0.1), Ronan Mc Entire (1.3) 3 frees, David Pettit, Kevin Donohoe, Ciaran Mc Stay, Peter Masterson (0.4). Subs used, Adrian Maguire, Noel Reynolds, Emmet Masterson, Michael Reilly and James Mimnagh. On Saturday next we play Colmcille in Division 3 in Pairc na Gael @ 4.30pm. Hard luck to Damien, Diarmuid, Francis, James and Cian and their Longford team mates who went down to Wicklow on Sunday last. Better luck next time. Reminder regarding the next event on our social calendar, the Nob Nation show with the well-known satirist Oliver Callan from RTE'S 2FM which takes place in the Longford Arms Hotel on 17th April. Tickets for this event will be on sale shortly. Lotto results for Monday 8th March 2010. The numbers drawn were 15, 22, 23 & 24. There was no jackpot winner. The winners of the draw for €20 each were Raymond Reynolds, Caroline Martin, Larry Cosgrove & Mary O'Reilly. The seller's prize was won by Noel Maguire.

Minor Club Notes for issue dated 19th March 2010
Our u14's had a very useful workout against Longford Slashers on Friday evening last in Pairc na Gael. We compete in the u14 Féile this Saturday in Clonguish @ 12 noon. Our minors play their opening game of the special minor league when we take on Granard in Pairc na Gael on Sunday next @ 1pm. Hard luck to our schools team who were defeated in the opening round of their championship. They play their next game on Monday March 15th.
