Crucial game for footballers

Longford footballers know that a further defeat in the league will end their chances of promotion this year.

On Sunday, the Midlanders face high flying Waterford at Dungarvan knowing that a third consecutive defeat would end their interest in this year's campaign.

Glenn Ryan's charges were unfortunate to lose to Limerick in controversial circumstances last time out, but they need to put that game behind them and move on.

Longford must still plan with the Barden brothers Paul and David as well as the suspended Danny Keenan for Sunday's match against a Waterford side that sit second in the table.
