Longford schools football is alive and well as two of the county's finest meet in the Leinster Vocational Schools senior A final on Saturday.

Ballymahon Secondary School and Cnoc Mhuire, Granard will go head-to-head in the novel final this weekend with not much separating the sides.

A large crowd is expected to fill Pearse Park for the 2pm throw in and the winner will become the first school from the Midlands County to win this title.

Ballymahon defeated Ashbourne Community School in the semi final, while Granard saw off Tullow CBS at the penultimate stage. Both teams will be without key players through suspension. Tweet
