Senior training commenced last weekend, with an encouraging turnout. Training continues this week, on Tuesday and Friday at 8.00pm. Full turnout is expected. The treble-winning Minor team of last year will be having their victory function on the night of Friday 19th March next. They will be presented with their Special Minor League, League and Championship medals for their respective campaigns last year. The function will be held in Cooney's Hotel, with a four-course meal on the night. Presenting the medals will be Mayo's Trevor Mortimer. The players will be guests of honour, however tickets for all other wishing to attend cost Eu25 and are available from any of the Minor Committee, and we hope for a large turnout on the night. There was no winner of last weeks Draw in Paddys worth Eu3300. Numbers drawn were 6, 12, 14, 17. Congratulations to the Eu30 winners: Charlie Byrne, Ballymahon; Pat Mulleady, Foigha; Eileen O'Dowd, c/o Canal Turn and Hugh Keenan, Moyvale. Last Monday's Draw was held in Kiernan's, with the Jackpot worth Eu3400 and the Promoters Prize Eu340. Tickets costing Eu2 are available from the usual outlets, or you can buy three for Eu5. Membership is now due and must be paid to Albert Fallon ASAP. All players must be paid up members of the club, with their membership paid before the first game of the year, or else they will not be insured against injury. Rates are Eu20 General Membership, Eu40 Players Membership, Eu30 Student Players Membership, Eu10 Minor Players, Eu5 u-8 to u-17 Players. In any case, the latest date for payment of insurance and membership is 31st March. Minor Membership and Registration can be paid at training over the next few weeks, every Tuesday and Friday at 7.00pm. Thanks to Seamus, Alan, Willie, Niall, Wayne and Paul for working on the pitch last Saturday. U-12s to Minor have now started back training every Tuesday and Friday >from 7.00-8.15pm. The Minor Club is running a Fundraising Draw, and in a new twist this year, it is a double draw. Draw One consists bales of briquettes as prizes. First Prize 80 bales; Second Prize 60 bales; Third Prize 60 bales; Fourth Prize 50 bales; Fifth Prize 50 bales; Sixth Prize 50 bales; Seventh Prize 25 bales. Draw Two is the Annual Grand National Sweepstakes Draw. First Prize Eu200; Second Prize Eu100; Third Prize Eu60; Fourth Prize Eu50; Fifth Prize Eu50; Last To Finish Eu50; Winning Jockey Eu50.
