Longford GAA received a timely boost this week after they were granted planning permission for a new Centre of Excellence.

The €3 million project is to be developed at Lyneen, Killashee and will be the base for all county teams when completed. The planning permission was granted by Longford County Council subject to a number of conditions.

The development will consist of three full sized training pitches; two storey clubhouse with eight dressingrooms, two physiotherapy rooms, two equipment rooms, first aid room, gym, dining/meeting room and a viewing area.

There will also be extensive work done outside with a running track and car park being just some of the facilities being put in place. Tweet
