Dromard GAA Club Notes
December 15, 2008
Dromard GAA held their AGM for 2008 in the clubhouse on Sunday afternoon last. A large crowd attended the meeting, which was chaired by Paul Hourican. The secretary Gerry McCabe gave a very compressive report on the activities of the club during 2008. Treasure Ray Murphy outlined the finances of the club, in a very detailed way, which everyone could understand. The chairman addressed the AGM, and thanked all the committees, Managers, players and all the people who helped out during the year. He especially thanked the people who volunteer to do stewarding for Games and Funerals. He reflected that we should always remember where we have come from and our members who have pass before us. "Again this year we lost a few members, especially Stephen Smith, who played on the first team to win an U14 Championship team and to one of our Vice Presidents John Maguire. Of course John was a gentleman who devoted his life to his extended family, neighbours and Dromard GAA Club. We also remembered another man this year, TP Pettit, when Danny Pettit presented the Referee of the Senior Championship final with a special commissioned piece of glass, donated by the Club. This will now be a feature of every county final >from now on. A copy of the piece, which will remain in the club house. " Paul thank Dromard GAA for allowing him to be their Chairman for 2008, it is with regret, due to work commitments, that he was standing down as Chairman for 2009. The AGM elected the following main officers: Chairman: Joe Murphy, Secretary: Gerry McCabe, Ass: Sec: Emmet Masterson, Fixtures Sec: Sean Conefrey. Treasure: Marian Maguire.
