Convention to see little drama
December 04, 2008
The 2008 Longford GAA Convention is expected to go off without any major incidents with only two of the positions on the executive to be contested.
The position of vice chairman is up for grabs following the resignation of James Clarke (Clonguish) and four people are meant to run for the vacant role.
Noel Greene (Mostrim), Derek Nolan (Young Grattans), Michael Lynch jnr (Abbeylara) and Pat Donnellan (Fr Manning Gaels) are all expected to let their names go forward.
Also at the convention, the position of Youth Officer/Minor Board Chairman is to be contested after Michael Carrigy stepped down and four names in the frame are Cyril Connor (Kenagh), Derek Nolan (Young Grattans), Colin Dalton (Sean Connolly's) and Eugene Quaine (Carrickedmond).
