Senior Championship Quarter Final: Dromard 1-10 Killoe 1-13.
Commiserations to our senior footballers who were defeated by Killoe in the quarter final of the championship on Saturday evening at Pearse Park. Dromard started slowly and trailed by 8 points to 4 at half time. The Dromard scores were converted by Francis McGee, James Martin, Ronan McEntire and Diarmuid Masterson. Killoe extended their lead to 5 points (11-6) with ten minutes played in the second half but Dromard then enjoyed their best period in the game. A five-minute scoring burst yielded an excellent goal by Cian Mimnagh quickly followed by two well-taken points from Joseph Hagan and Ronan McEntire which levelled the game. However, Killoe replied with a goal of their own and, although Dromard continued to press for scores, the goal proved to be the difference between the sides at the finish. Team: Gavin McNerney; Paul McGee, Niall Vance, James Mimnagh; Dylan McCormack, Peter Reynolds, Conor McGahern; Bryan McCormack, Diarmuid Masterson (0-1); Ronan McEntire (0-4, one free), Francis McGee (0-1, free), Bernard Sheridan; James Martin (0-2), Cian Mimnagh (1-1, point from free), Joseph Hagan (0-1).
