Dromard Ladies Club Notes

County Matters: Due to the bad weather all games were cancelled last weekend. THE Longford Senior Panel are out again this Thursday under the lights in Clones throw in 8 00pm against Down. The County u/14s and u/16s were due to start their campaigns as well but were also thwarted by the weather. Dromard are represented on both of these panels by Louise Tierney and Kate McEntire at u/14 and by Karen McLoughlin and Shauna Hagan at u/16.Well done to these 4 young ladies for putting themselves forward. It is a big commitment and they are to be commended for it.

Underage Training: Hopefully, now that the bad weather seems to have passed we will be up and running. We start this Saturday 10th March 10 30am till 11 30am on the top pitch. All girls, new and old aged 7yrs and upwards are warmly welcome, so bring your neighbours and schoolfriends even if they have never kicked a football before. We all had to start somewhere and we guarantee you will have great enjoyment. Any parents or others who would like to be involved in any way, even if you just want to move a few cones or retrieve the footballs will be just as warmly welcomed as your daughters. See below the next notice.

Parents Meeting: This has now been changed from Mon 5th March, as the clubhouse is used for Yoga Classes to this Thursday 8th March at 8 30pm SHARP. It is important that at least one parent, if not both,  attend to enable us to put into place a plan for the development of our Ladies Club at underage level. If you don't have children under 18 years old, but feel you have a contribution to make please feel free to attend. We have always been a fully inclusive club from 7yrs to 70yrs and we know everyone has a contribution to make no matter how small it seems, so nobody will be turned away.

Mr and Mrs Competition: Held on 24th Feb in the Breffni Arms. This was a great success for our National School in Dromard, Congratulations to Deirdre and Kerry Waters the winners on the night. It was great to see so many of our elder Dromard Ladies supporting the event and showing that they hadn't forgotten their old school where probably many of them kicked their first football. Well done to the organising committee.

The Kube: Two lads from the Senior Club, Peter Reynolds and Danny Pettit are taking part in this event organised as a fundraiser for Eslin GAA Club Leitrim. They will be holding an Open Mike and Auction Night on Sat 10th March in Pat Murtagh's Bar Arva to raise money for Eslin's event, and as well as the Ladies Club attending the event and supporting the boys, we will be donating a Dromard Ladies Jersey signed by our Longford Ladies Intermediate Championship 2017 winning side for the auction. This, naturally is expected to bring big money, so get yourselves out and enjoy a fun evening with the chance to wear the jersey on your way home !!

Birthday Greetings: Only one of our members this week, so Happy Birthday Leah Tute from Fostra who will be 9 next Wenesday.
