Sympathy: Dromard GAA offers its sympathy to the family of Fr Michael McKeon, formerly of Smear, Aughnacliffe who passed away in the United States on 23 November. Fr McKeon served as a priest in the Diocese of Sacramento, California for 52 years. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Dromard GAA Special Members Draw: The response to our Special Members Monthly Draw this year has been phenomenal so far and once again the people of Dromard and the diaspora have come out in great numbers to support their club. This is just a final reminder to those of you who were in the draw last year and have just not got round to renewing yet or for those of you who missed out last time and want in on the action! (€800 in cash given away every month). GAA Games Development Conference 2018: This conference will take place on Friday and Saturday, January 12th and 13th 2018 in Croke Park. The Conference will offer the 750 delegates attending an opportunity to access talks relating to key coaching issues in Gaelic games. Friday, January 12th will feature a Youth Development forum that will investigate many of the issues related to ensuring that player are provided with an adequate programme of games, appropriate to their needs and abilities. Speakers will present on a number of initiatives that have been developed to complement the formal games programme. Saturday, January 13th provides an opportunity for delegates to attend sessions from speakers of national and international renown covering topics relevant to the player, the coach, the game and the environment. Tickets cost €60 and are available to purchase from the dedicated ticket site.
Dromard Ladies Club Notes
Fuel Draw: As everyone knows, this is the Ladies Club's biggest fundraiser of the year and we are asking you all to get behind us once again. There are 6 prizes totalling €1250 up for grabs and with tickets only €2, or a book of 3 for €5, this represents great value. Our thanks go to our sponsors, Corrigan's Service Station, Gortermone Stores and Moyne Stores where tickets can also be purchased plus Norman Hall Transport, McNerney Turf Supplies and the Reynolds Family. Tickets are also available from every member of our Ladies Club, young and old. On that note, there are still a few parents who have yet to pick up their allocation so can they contact Imelda or Bernie to arrange that. Draw takes place on Sun 7th January.
