Kildimo/Pallaskenry Club Notes

July 19, 2016

MINOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP: Kildimo/Pallaskenry 3-16 Ballybrown 0-14. Our minor hurlers had a superb win over neighbours Ballybrown, only days after both teams had players representing their county in a Munster final. Kyle Hayes had captained that Limerick side but was back in club colours as we pushed onto a strong victory. Shaun Barry stole the headlines with a hat-trick, which really sunk Ballybrown but all over the pitch, there were fantastic performances for Kildimo/Pallaskenry. Liam Griffin also caught the eye with some startlingly accurate free-taking from distance which was a huge asset. A great result for the team which will give them great encouragement for the rest of the year.

LIMERICK REPRESENTATION: It was a bumper week for club representation in county colours. Just after Kyle had captained the Limerick minor hurlers in a Munster final, we had a number of others involved the following weekend. For the Limerick U-16 hurlers, we had four players involved, an unbelievable achievement for what is still a small club. Liam Griffin, Shaun Barry, Mikey Hayes and Adam Butler were all involved and it is a testament to the hard work that they and their coaches have done in recent years. And that was not all: at U-15 level, we had James Mason involved, and at U-14 level, we had Aaron O'Donovan & Micheál Cuddihy. Once more, these young players have put in a huge amount of work and are a huge source of pride to the club and to their families. Well done to all, and we hope to see many more club members in county colours in the coming years.

U-16 FOOTBALLERS: Kildimo/Pallaskenry 4-13 Mungret/St. Paul's 1-8. A fourteen point victory for our U-16 footballers reflected their dominance as they powered past Mungret in fine fashion. Congratulations to all the team, and we hope they continue their fine form.

U-14 FOOTBALLERS: Kildimo/Pallaskenry 4-11 Oola 1-4. The U-14s have been in fine form in both codes this year, and they had another big win in the football this weekend against Oola. A highly successful year continues for the U-14s, with plenty more to come.
