Limerick captain Seanie Buckley admits that they will have to be at their best to see off Clare in Saturday's Munster SFC opener at Cusack Park, Ennis.

The Banner go into the match as slight favourites, even though they lost to Limerick in a league meeting earlier in the year.

And Buckley stressed to the Limerick Leader that Clare enter the contest in a bullish mood.

"Clare are going into it hugely confident," said Buckley. "I was reading the Clare papers after our league game and they saw that as their worst performance of the league by a long way and they are a hell of a lot better than they played in Newcastlewest.

"If we expect to get things as handy we will be cleaned out. The football they can play we saw in the Gaelic Grounds a couple of years ago when they were running from all angles and they are a very good side.

"Last year they pushed Kildare to the very end and whatever we can be we won't be surprised by what they bring and we need to match that."
