Jerry Wallace has left his roles as Limerick minor hurling coach and director of the county's underage hurling academy.

The Limerick Leader website states that the former Antrim manager, who has also coached the Cork and Limerick seniors, is returning to manage his native Midleton and can no longer give the commitment required for the two Limerick roles.

Wallace has served as director of the underage hurling academy since September 2012, while he coached Limerick to back-to-back Munster MHC titles in 2013 and '14. He was due to continue as coach next year, despite a change in manager which saw Leo O'Connor replace Brian Ryan.

The Limerick Leader is also reporting that the Limerick county board has made a formal application to Croke Park to have Hawk-Eye installed at the Gaelic Grounds.
