Cahill eager to make amends

October 24, 2014

Croom captain Mickey Cahill is determined to make up for the disappointment of last year's relegation from the senior ranks.

On Sunday, they face Bruff in the Limerick Premier IHC final and Cahill stressed to the Limerick Leader that relegation really hurt them.

"It was a big blow last year - a lot of us had been senior since 1999 and to go down was a setback," explained Cahill.

"In one way, it has helped us - we took a step back but we have taken two steps forward going up because we blooded five or six good young players and if we were senior it's possible they may not have got their chance and that is a big bonus for us."
