The Limerick county board has wasted no time in replacing Tom Ryan as a selector with the county's intermediate hurlers.

The former senior manager, who led the Treaty County to All-Ireland final appearances in 1994 and '96, stepped down along with fellow selector Tony Roche last week, just a month after they were ratified to work alongside manager Don Flynn, trainer John Lacey and selector Declan O'Grady.

Ryan had cited a 'lack of honesty' in recent inter-county management appointments as his reason for resigning, but both he and Roche were replaced at Tuesday night's county board meeting without any debate by Darren Moynihan and Ray Ryan.

At the same meeting, senior selector Declan Brouder was rubber-stamped as Limerick's new U21 football manager, while Sean Holmes (Oola) and Paddy Iyess (Cappagh-Kilcornan) were confirmed as selectors in minor football manager Jerry O'Sullivan's backroom team.

It was also confirmed that Cappamore's Diarmuid Sheehy will continue as Limerick junior football manager next year.
