Chairman says clubs should feel proud

September 12, 2014

Limerick chairman Oliver Mann has stressed that any club represented by the minors in last weekend All-Ireland MHC final should feel very proud.

Mann was speaking in the wake of the Shannonsiders defeat to Kilkenny in the minor decider at Croke Park last Sunday afternoon.

Despite the defeat, there was a genuine feeling of pride when the chairman addressed the attendance of the home coming on Monday evening.

"I would like to thank the clubs, who have been instrumental in putting the idea of taking up Gaelic games in these young lads and that hasn't happened over night," the Limerick Leader reports Mann as saying.

"To become a minor hurler, it's an 8-10 year project starting at under-8 and you work the whole way up."
