Limerick's Paudie O'Brien wants to get back to the All-Ireland semi-final stage and put things right.

Having won the Munster championship last year, the Treaty County were stunned by neighbours Clare in their All-Ireland 'semi'. This year, they lost the provincial decider to Cork but can still advance to the last four provided they see off Wexford in Thurles on Sunday.

Reflecting on last season's ill-fated foray into the All-Ireland series, Kilmallock clubman O'Brien tells The Irish Daily Star:

"We didn't turn up at all. When I think about last year I would always think back to the Clare match rather than the Munster final.

"It was that disappointing. I'm not saying it's an opportunity lost or that we had a God-given right to win. It's just that we didn't turn up at all and that's really disappointing.

"It's hard to leave Croke Park with regrets like that. We have one match to get back there and try to justify ourselves.

"At the end of the day, we're not a bitter group of lads. We had our chance and didn't take it. We're going a different route this year and it might suit us a little bit better having the extra match."
