Limerick's Paudie O'Brien believes there is no point feeling sorry for themselves as they are not out of the championship yet.

The Shannonsiders lost their Munster SHC crown to Cork last Sunday and although the defeat was a bitter pill to swallow, they still progress to an All-Ireland quarterfinal.

And O'Brien stressed to the Limerick Leader that many counties would love to be in their position at this time of the year.

"We have two weeks and another match - some teams don't have that luxury, they have to wait for a year to put things right," stated O'Brien.

"In fairness to the lads they are a very ambitious group of lads and you train and prepare very hard and when you don't bring it out on the field on a big day like the Munster final it can be heartbreaking and you have to live with that. We are very disappointed and it's still very raw a few days after it."

He added: We realise we are still in a great position and have match to put things right - if we bring out that performance the next day and up it to get a few small things right, hopefully it would get us over the line."
