Minor footballers face tough task

April 11, 2014
Limerick minor footballers go into next Wednesday's Munster championship clash against Cork at Pairc Ui Rinn as underdogs.

Last year, Limerick lost to Waterford and Clare in a disappointing campaign, but manager Jerry O'Sullivan told the Limerick Leader that he was hoping that playing in this year's Leinster minor league will have brought them on.

"Last year was disappointing there is no doubt about that but when you look back at it, we lost to Waterford and Kerry only beat Waterford by six points so there wasn't that much between any of the counties last year," said O'Sullivan.

"It was a massive thing for us to get that quality of games. I think the boys held their own for most of those games and then after that we had challenge games against teams from Connacht and Munster."
