Limerick won't be appealing the Hawk-Eye cock-up which cost them a place in the All-Ireland MHC final.

The score technology was stood down for the senior game after it made a wrong call on a first-minute point by Limerick's Barry Nash in their minor semi-final against Galway. The sides finished level at the end of normal-time, but had the Nash score stood, extra-time would not have been required and Galway went on to win by 0-23 to 0-20 after the 80-plus minutes.

The graphic clearly showed the ball going between the posts, but much to the astonishment of those watching, 'MISS' flashed up on Croke Park's big screens and on TV sets across the country.

"We took it in good faith that it was wide and we didn't dwell on it, we just moved on," a magnanimous Limerick manager Brian Ryan said in the Irish Independent.

"Outside of that, we had 17 scoring chances in the first half that we didn't take while Galway had 10 and took eight.

"There was a lot of scoring opportunities and that was just one. In the overall context of the game, we had sufficient chances to drive home the game.

"I think what told in the end was Galway's cuteness around this place before. A first run-out here for a 17-year-old is an occasion in itself. This is an annual ritual for Galway because they have a direct route into it every year and that's a great bedding ground to grow young players."
