Limerick's Ryan to miss Cork game

Limerick attacker Ian Ryan has been ruled out of the Munster SFC clash with Cork.

The Treaty County entertain the Rebels at the Gaelic Grounds on Saturday week and manager Maurice Horan confirms that the St Senan's ace is a non-runner:

"We thought it was the ligament on the front of the ankle, it was actually the deltoid ligament on the inside of the ankle, he told The Irish Examiner.

"He severed it completely. He's wearing one of those boots on his foot. He's off his feet for two weeks and he's looking at six to seven weeks out of action. He won't even be running or back training before the Cork game."

Better news for Limerick is that John Galvin and Ger Collins will both be fit for the May 25th game.
