Patrickswell GAA Notes

February 06, 2012
The Michael O'Brien Memorial Tournament will feature Patrickswell, Croom, Ballybrown and Sixmilebridge this year. There will be an official launch on 16th February. Games are anticipated to take place from late February until mid-March.

On 11th and 12th February 2012, the club will hold a Church Gate Collection to raise funds. Your generosity is much appreciated. The Limerick GAA Club Draw (formerly Mackey Stand Draw) is now open to subscribers. The first draw is Friday 2nd March and there will be ten draws throughout the year. In 2011, our club members won two jackpots and a €5,000 prize. At least 50% of the proceeds are retained by Patrickswell GAA Club. Your local promoter shall make contact very soon. If you do not receive a visit, please do not hesitate to contact any club member.

The management teams for 2012 were ratified by the Committee last week. The Under 21 team is P.J. O'Grady, Barry Foley and Michael McDermott. The Minor staff is Pa Dundon, John Tuohy, John McDermott, Trevor Griffin and Brian Murray. Junior Hurling is managed by Anthony Foley, Pa Earls, Denver Morrissey and Mike Foley. Junior Football is managed by Michael Woulfe, Joe Tierney, Dessie Foley and Kevin O'Brien.

Club membership is now due for renewal. The prices are €70 for families, €30 for adults and €15 for Juveniles/Students. Subscriptions can be paid to Valerie Lynch (Membership Registrar). Please note that any special enrolment sign-up days will be advertised on Clickatel. All players are obliged to be members of the club to represent Patrickswell GAA.

Ard Scoil Ris displayed incredible resilience to salvage a draw against Nenagh CBS in the Harty Cup semi-final. The team includes Patrickswell's Cian Lynch, Andrew Carroll, Jack Kelleher, Kevin O'Brien and coach Natal O'Grady.

Brothers turned opponents for 70 minutes as the O'Brien boys faced each other in the Fitzgibbon Cup. Tom O'Brien was representing University of Limerick, while Sean turned out for Limerick Institute of Technology. The game ended in a 0-16 to 1-13 draw, so the boys will have to meet again.
