Allen laments over absentees

Limerick hurling manager John Allen
Limerick manager John Allen's first competitive game in charge is hampered by the loss of many key players.
Allen's charges take on Clare in the Waterford Crystal Cup quarterfinal on Saturday evening and although the result will not have any bearing on the rest of the year, the Cork native would have liked to have more players available for the game.
Limerick are without the Na Piarsaigh contingent, the college tied players, Seamus Hickey, who is in America; Gavin O'Mahony and Graeme Mulcahy are in Ethiopia, while there are also a number of injury concerns.
"The facts are that we are working with a panel of 38 players and at the moment we will have 22 or probably 20 players available for selection for Saturday evening," Allen revealed to the Limerick Leader.
